Petropars South Pars Gas Field Development Wellhead Jackets Loadout

The Managing Director of Petropars released the happy news that, upon commencement of loading operation of the Wellhead Jacket of B11 Platform, the operations for development of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field were officially initiated. Further, he said the operations for the erection of the 1st platform of Phase 11 will have been concluded under the desirable climate by late Khordad 1399 (Mid-June 2020).

On Thursday 11 Ordibehesht (April 30, 2020), before the operations for the loading of the Wellhead Jacket of B11 Platform began, Engineer Hamid-Reza Masoudi reiterated that the loading of Jacket was in line with the aims of Dr. Rouhani’s Administration and objectives of the Petroleum Ministry as well as the goals and intentions of the Revered Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran in the year named for “Production Boost”. He underlined that the loading was considered highly significant as it was the first step taken for the development of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field, and that upon loading of the Jacket all barriers and obstacles hindering development of Phase 11 will be broken and removed.

He commented, “If the climate proves desirable in late Khordad 1399 (Mid-June 2020), the Wellhead Jacket of B11 Platform will be erected and subsequently the operations for the drilling of 5 wells of Phase 11 will begin”

Engineer Hamid-Reza Masoudi stated that the Jacket weighed some 2,200 tons with its height measuring about 80 meters, and expressed hope that the 1st well of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field will be commissioned and the production will commence next Iranian year.

He stressed that since Mehr 1398 (early October 2019) very tight planning and scheduling were performed at Petropars for development of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field, and consequently all operations were being carried out in conformity with the time schedule, and that Petropars was fully determined to seriously move in the same path.

This Project is expected to produce 2 billion cubic feet of enriched gas which will be transferred to the refineries at South Pars in order to utilize their processing capacity.
