Oceaneering Awarded Decommissioning Support Contract, Canada
Oceaneering International, Inc., has been awarded a contract to support a decommissioning project off the east coast of Canada. This is the first decommissioning contract for Oceaneering in Canada.
The contract’s work scope includes internal cutting, external cutting, and local soil displacement. Work is expected to start in Q2 2020.
The decommissioning project comprises seven offshore gas platforms located approximately 135 nautical miles east of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on the edge of the Scotian Shelf.
The platforms were installed between 1999 and 2006 and consist of integrated topsides modules on jacket structures that are in water depths of 25-75 m.
“This opportunity truly highlights our continued ability to leverage the depth and breadth of Oceaneering’s service offerings to the Canadian market,” said Terry Humber, Service Line Manager. “The scope of work takes advantage of Oceaneering’s global experience in internal and external offshore structural cutting as well as soil displacement for access to the structure.”
