Ingeteam to Work on Europe´s Largest Photovoltaic Complex
Ingeteam supplies the Protection and Control Systems for the substations of the largest photovoltaic complex in Europe
Ingeteam has taken part in the largest solar installation in Europe by providing the engineering, supply and commissioning of the Protection and Control Systems of the four substations that distribute the energy generated in the park.
This large energy facility, inaugurated at the beginning of the year, is located between the regions of Zaragoza and Teruel. The 18 plants that make up the project have a combined power of 800 megawatts and a total area of 3,100 hectares. For the transmission of the generated energy, it has four substations: South, Samper, Peaker and Chiprana, for which Ingeteam has supplied equipment of the INGEPAC™, INGESAS™ and INGESYS™ product ranges. These have a control architecture based on the IEC 61850 standard with High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) communication protocol, which guarantees high system reliability against the failure of any network component.
Up to 500 workers have participated in the construction of this entire complex, and the investment in the project is around 500 million euros.
