Hellenic Cables Secures 100% Renewable Electricity for its Plants
In another push to reduce its carbon footprint and meet increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly cable solutions, Hellenic Cables has entered an agreement with Enel Green Power to ensure that 100% of its power supply needs in Greece originate from renewable energy.
The agreement includes all of Hellenic Cables’ industrial facilities in Greece, including its flagship submarine cables plant in Corinth and the high-voltage cables plant in Thiva. Enel Green Power guarantees the origin of renewable electricity through its large renewables portfolio in the country.
This is another step taken by Hellenic Cables to minimize its environmental impact. It follows a series of initiatives in the same line including adoption of circular economy practices and waste reduction.
Hellenic Cables and Enel Green Power intend to expand on this agreement with collaboration on various energy efficiency initiatives and renewable energy projects, further enabling the green energy transition in Greece and in Europe.
