Global Wind Service US Bags Large Crane & Installation Contract
Global Wind Service (GWS) said they are very pleased to announce that Global Wind Service US has been awarded with the crane and installation (C&I) scope for a very large wind farm in Texas, USA.
Due to confidentiality considerations, GWS are not allowed to disclose the name of the wind farm nor the client at this point.
The full C&I scope includes the supply of manpower and cranes for Offloading, Pre-Installation, Grouting, Main Installation, Tower Wiring and Mechanical and Electrical completion including all tooling and rigging equipment.
The wind farm will consist of 65 turbines. Work has already commenced and is scheduled to run throughout the rest of the fall. The project will utilize four main cranes. More than 20 cranes and related supporting equipment will be use on the project.

Once fully commissioned, the wind farm will produce around 1270 GWh – enough electricity to supply around 115,000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions with 604,000 tonnes during each year of operation.
