Global Wind Service Expands and Relocates in Turkey
Due to their continued growth, Global Wind Service (GWS) expands its local footprint in the Turkish wind turbine installation and service market. The Turkish office has been moved to larger facilities in Istanbul to better serve the growing demand for GWS’ services in Turkey.
The Turkish business unit has grown considerably since its establishment in 2009. It now comprises 11 back-office employees and over 100 technicians.
“Turkey is an important market for us, and we have been present in the country since 2009, so almost since the foundation of Global Wind Service. Establishing our Turkish business unit was a clear priority, to be close to the market and support our clients’ growth in Turkey. We have steadily grown over the years and so has client demand and our pipeline, so we see continued opportunities for growth in Turkey, and strengthening our local setup is therefore a clear part of our strategy.
For us, it is important that we have a solid organisation in Turkey to support this. To establish this, we have made a deliberate choice, to recruit locally to help create more jobs and reduce our carbon footprint at the same time. Therefore, it makes me very proud that we now have over 100 skilled and dedicated local employees in Turkey” said Michael Høj Olsen, CEO of Global Wind Service.
