SPT Offshore Completes Suction Pile Test for Seagreen Offshore Windfarm

SPT Offshore successfully performed a suction pile test program for SSE Renewable‘s Seagreen Offshore wind farm project.

The test program consists of 29 no installations in various types of soil using SPT Offshore‘s full scale suction pile with a diameter of 9.5m and length of 7.8m. Full size suction pile tests make design optimizations possible and de-risk the installation. Especially for sites with less homogeneous soil conditions and/or stiff to very stiff clays.

Suction piles are an adequate, optimum solution for the foundations of offshore wind turbines and substations. Suction pile foundations provide a silent, reversable and fast installation.
