Total UK Announced New Approach to Improve Safety and Efficiency
Total E&P UK has awarded a five-year contract for the general maintenance of all its operated oil and gas assets in the UK to PBS by Ponticelli (a consortium between Ponticelli UK Ltd, Brand Energy & Infra Structure Services Ltd and Semco Maritime Ltd).
This new contract will bring together previous separate contracts for Total E&P UK’s sites. It is a new approach which will allow Total to be more efficient as it brings all maintenance under one contract, allowing the company to deploy new ideas across all assets more quickly.
This is the first offshore UK contract PBS have won, their entry to the UK market underlines the ongoing attraction of doing business in the UKCS, and Total believes that their entry brings fresh ideas and experience that will ultimately benefit the whole sector.
The contract will come into effect in the second quarter of 2020. It features collaborative remuneration for the new contract holder, which will incentivise improvements in safety, efficiency and production.
“I am very pleased to announce that PBS have been awarded this important contract. In the last few years we have consistently sought to improve safety and efficiency at our UK sites,” stated Jean-Luc Guiziou, Managing Director of Total E&P UK. “Today’s announcement marks the next step on this journey. By continuing to invest in our operations and constantly seeking new and more efficient ways of working, Total is underlining its long-term commitment to the North Sea.”
Total will remain in full control of its operations. This simplified approach marks the latest step in Total’s drive to raise standards for safer, more efficient and more productive operations.
