Blue Water Prepares for Guyana Oil Boom
Blue Water increases its focus on transport and logistics to the Oil industry in Guyana and the north-eastern region of South America.
Blue Water said there are indications for a strong increase in the oil recovery off the coast of the north-eastern part of South America. In recent years, Blue Water has been involved in projects in this region, and focus on this interesting geographic area will now increase as the company opens an office in Guyana.
”It is a fact that the activities within the Oil and Gas industry in this region are on the rise and will be so for the next years, and we have therefore found it natural to intensify our focus in this area. This will also be matching our strategy about a strong global set-up with offices at the industry’s key locations so that we can be close to the clients and thus in the best ways provide them with our services”, states Thomas Bek, Blue Water’s Global Director for Energy & Projects.
A solid network
Blue Water said that Guyana and the north-eastern part of South America are not new areas for them. The company stated it already has built experience and a solid network in this region through its involvement in different energy and project-related transport and logistics projects for companies like ExxonMobil and Saipem.

Blue Water Guyana already manages large volumes of cargo into Guyana and will now expand the range of services to include shore base, customs clearance, warehousing, trucking, laydown management, heavy haul and lifting service for energy and project-related business into and from Georgetown. Blue Water mentioned they have decided to partner with Peterson Logistics, as the two companies together will be able to provide strong and reliable services to the industry.
”Many of our clients operate at locations worldwide. Being able to provide the transport and logistics services that the clients require – and where they require them – is essential for our service. We currently adapt and strengthen our set-up, and being able to add value to the clients’ projects is of great importance for our intake of orders”, says Brent Patterson.
Demand for project management
Blue Water’s global network of offices work closely together to provide services to the clients, and the company has an extensive range of special in-house competences; engineers, experienced project freight forwarders, IT developers as well as quality, safety and environmental experts. These in-house competences will increase according to the clients’ need.
