Ainscough Crane Hire is working with a ALE in order to support its work in the wind industry.

ALE is an industry leader with specialised engineering teams and a worldwide network of operating centres which it utilises to deliver projects across a variety of sectors.

Ainscough’s Heavy Cranes team has supplied a pair of 500t Liebherr LTM1500-8.1 mobile telescopic cranes equipped with 36.9m guyed jibs and full counterweight to ALE’s team at Campbeltown Harbour, a commercial port at the southern tip of the Kintyre peninsula.

The two cranes are being used to transport different components of wind turbines, with each weighing up to 133t. The items are moved by tandem lift from vehicles into the ship’s hold.

The components are then shipped to Great Yarmouth, where they are set to be installed at wind farms. The operation began earlier this month and is set to take several months to complete.

Ivan Ellis, Heavy Cranes major project manager, Ainscough Crane Hire said: “We’ve worked very closely with ALE on many projects over recent years, and our ongoing work in Campbeltown is evidence of how we can pool our respective strength and expansive resources can help deliver even the most challenging of projects. We look forward to continuing to work with the ALE team on the transportation of these components in the months ahead.”
